How to Install Your Wireless Wall Switch

Question

What is the Difference Between Remote Controls or Wall Switches with Different Channel Numbers?

How Do I Choose a Multi-Channel Remote Control or Wireless Wall Switch?

Answer

When selecting a multi-channel remote control or wireless wall switch, the first considerations should be the number of shades you have and whether you need to control each shade independently. To simplify operation and increase efficiency, we recommend assigning a dedicated channel to each shade. This not only allows for easy individual control of each shade but also makes scene setting and group control more convenient.

The number of channels on remote controls or wall switches determines how many shades they can control individually. Here are the details:

1 Channel:

It can be paired with one or more shades.

  • If paired with one, it can control that shade individually.
  • If paired with multiple shades, it can control all paired shades simultaneously.

2 Channels:

Each channel can be paired with one or more shades.

For example: when channel 1 is paired with one shade, it can control that shade individually. When channel 1 is paired with multiple shades, it can control all shades paired with channel 1 simultaneously.

6 Channels:

Each channel can be paired with one or more shades.

For example: when channel 1 is paired with one shade, it can control that shade individually. When channel 1 is paired with multiple shades, it can control all shades paired with channel 1 simultaneously.

Regarding the group control function of the 6-channel remote:

Channel 0 of the 6-channel remote is used for group control and can control all shades paired with the remote at the same time.

For example, if channel 1 is paired with 1 shade, channel 2 with 3 shades, and channel 3 with 4 shades, while the remaining channels are not paired, selecting channel 0 will control all 8 shades from channels 1 to 6 simultaneously.

Regarding the group control function of the 6-channel wireless wall switch:

1. Pressing multiple number keys to select multiple channels allows you to control all shades paired with the selected channels at the same time. For example, if channel 1 is paired with 1 shade and channel 2 with 3 shades, pressing both numbers 1 and 2 will control the 4 shades paired with channels 1 and 2.

2. Selecting "All" will select all channels, enabling simultaneous control of all shades paired with the wireless wall switch. For example, if channel 1 is paired with 1 shade, channel 2 with 3 shades, and channel 3 with 4 shades, while the remaining channels are not paired, selecting "All" will control all 8 shades from channels 1 to 6 at the same time.

15 Channels:

Each channel can be paired with one or more shades.

For example: when channel 1 is paired with one shade, it can control that shade individually. When channel 1 is paired with multiple shades, it can control all shades paired with channel 1 simultaneously.

Regarding the group control function of the 15-channel remote:

Channel 0 of the 15-channel remote is for group control, allowing simultaneous control of all shades paired with the remote.

For example, if channel 1 is paired with 1 shade, channel 2 with 3 shades, channel 3 with 2 shades, channel 4 with 2 shades, and channel 5 with 2 shades, while the remaining channels are not paired, selecting channel 0 will allow you to control all 10 shades from channels 1 through 15 at the same time.
